Department of Natural Resources and Environment in Ho Chi Minh City was established under Decision No. 121/2003/QD-UB dated 18/7/2003 of the City People's Committee based on the basis of the organizational structure of the local field Department of land Administration - Housing and receiving institutions to perform the function of State management of water resources, mineral resources and the environment from the Department of Agriculture and rural Development, Department of Science - technology and environment, Department of Industry and the Department of Transportation and Public Works.
